I know what it feel like to have this syndrome

I know what it feel like to have this syndrome I have lived with it all my life. I didn't realize I had Asperger's till I was in my early 50s even though our son had been diagnosed. All I knew was I had social   anxiety and had a hard time in school  knowing I didn't fit in.  I wasn't able to get an education, you would call part of my learning difficulties dyslexia.  When growing up in my day no one knew about these syndromes let alone treating them.  My mother tried to get help for me what she got told was she will grow out of it, and we were a working class family so being a girl they felt you would get married and have children, education wasn't important. Later in life this caused me a great deal of frustration  because I knew I was bright and intelligent . When you can't read it limits you in so many ways, I had opportunities that came my way that I had to say no to. I didn't learn to read properly till I was in my late 40s.  No one knew, because you learn to compensate so you have to be bright and come up with different excuses and you learn to rely on others. Every Asperger's person is different like I mentioned we are like colours of a rainbow so different in every way but so much a like in other way.

I had a mother who would sit down with me

I dedicate this prayer to our sweet mum who is no longer with us but she is in spirit.and all the mothers out there

"A Mother's Day Prayer"
A beautiful prayer spoken by the warm voice of Roy Lamont accompanied by an inspirational melody by Richard Berardi.
God Bless the Moms!

I didn't like school  because children could be so cruel. I had a mum that would sit down with me and tell me the story of the ugly duckling who grow into a beautiful swan.  I have achieved some wonderful things in my life I have always been able to turn things around to a positive. You show your children how strong you are by letting them see you can rise up against anything that comes your way. They will see it by how you handle your life. That's how your children learn by seeing what you have achieved and teaching them good morals and not letting them feel sorry for themselves because there are others far worse off than them.

I had a father who wasn't able to show me love like a father should

I had a father who wasn't able to show me love like a father should it caused me a lot of sadness and depression. I felt rejected but my father didn't know any better it wasn't his fault, he did the best with what he knew how,  he hadn't had any love or guidance given to him. My father had Asperger's, it's genetic I have it our son has it. I love this video these words fill my heart my soul with so much love the tears I shed washes away the sorrow and the hurt I feel so deep inside

You can't blame because if you do you can't move forward it doesn't mean those feeling don't come up you cry and then you.......

I let it go

I let it go I let it go

Now my father is in haven and I know if he was able to he would have wanted to be the father I wanted him to be

God has always been love to me

That bond with your child.

It took a long time for me to really understand what true love really meant. That bond with your child and seeing they need you to be there for them no matter what. It gave me the power to fight and stand up for our son's rights. I wanted to make sure our son got an education and I would do everything in my power to make it became a reality. He would get the help he needed so he wouldn't feel like I did, he wasn't going to suffer what I went through as a child and not being able to have an education caused me many anxieties, fears and insecurity. We were very blessed he had some wonderful teachers but he also had some that were not as understanding which caused us a great deal of  stress.

   My Little Angel

Roma Downey's words resonate the glory of  God's love for his creation of all children in the world.  Our beautiful  special needs children are a gift from God  they are sent to us for a reason to teach us love, compassion and understanding.

To start with you might feel these drugs

I think it's  getting  better now there is more information out there and I hope more doctors are starting to realize that it's not in the child's best interest to use these psychotic drugs.  To start with you might feel these drugs are working but no matter what there are always side effects, there is no quick fix.  If you understand this syndrome then drugs would be the last choice. Why would they give a drug like Risperdal to a child who is full of anxiety and fear? It's because that's what they have been taught .  You have to look at the whole picture why is this happening? These children can't speak up, we as adults make the decisions.  Do you know how they feel? Just look in to their eyes when they are on these medications. They have a very hard time to start with connecting, communicating and socializing and these drugs make it worse, it will take their personality away.  I can say that, because I speak from experience. Please look into other alternative solutions make sure you do it the right way because our children rely on us to take care of them.

This is just one of the Drugs they are giving to our children

Asperger's Syndrome: A Developmental Puzzle

Hans Asperger's was an Austrian Doctor who first notice peculiar behaviour in boys in the 1940s

A white-coated man in his thirties sits at a table across from a boy. He looks intently at the boy through his rimless glasses. His hair is cropped fairly short on the sides and is wavy on top. The boy, seated in the foreground with his back toward the viewer, sits straight up, with one arm resting on the arm of a wooden chair.

I admired, looked up to my husband

I admired, looked up to my husband and loved that he is disciplined and knows his history and is a great reader.  My husband is a humble man, I love him because he cares about his family and has always looked out for us.

I like to dedicate this to my husband

For Dad  (Father's Day)

This is for all the wonderful fathers out there that are there for their

children like my husband has been for Our Son!

Babies And Kids CommentsAlways remember your children are very special and they are sent to us for a reason. It's our inner beauty and our heart that shines through. Do not be judgmental, to care, nurture and Love.  We are here to learn and understand why this is so important to make this world a better place for our children. Glitter Lights Duncan

At the beginning of 2004 I didn't know how to get on to the internet, now I'm able to build websites. I love being creative it's satisfying and so rewarding  to see the finished results. I would like to thank Duncan Sutter for putting my front page up for me and for his patience in showing and helping me put some of our website together. Now I'm able to do things on my own, but if I do need help he is always there for me. Thank you Duncan I truly appreciate all your help. I have known Duncan and his lovely wife Joanne for over 30 years, they are two very special people.

A well balanced and healthy child is a happy child   and the same goes for us as parents
