Sherie de Mel,
( CMA
Principal) a lovely lady. I said
I would put the information
about her school on our website.

The
CMA story unfolds in 1944 Sri
Lanka, where a new mother, Ayna
Cader, (CMA Founder), attended
lectures given by Dr. Maria
Montessori. Dr. Montessori had
started her first Government
Approved Montessori Teacher
Education Programme , a post
graduate program offered for
certified teachers. Ayna, a
graduate of this program, was
inspired to educate her newborn,
Sherie de Mel, (CMA Principal).
Ayna proceeded to follow her
passion and taught in numerous
Montessori schools throughout
Sri Lanka, and England. Her
dream of starting a Montessori
school came to fruition in April
1980; Tiny Tots Montessori
School opened its doors and
welcomed 10 students. The dream
evolved from a small rented
space in a church with a 25
student capacity to the owned
facility with a 300+ student
capacity today.

letter I wrote was read at
Queen's Park at Ontario Legislature by Nicole
Crellin who is associated with
The
Citizens' Commission on Human Rights.
After all these years I was fortunate to meet
Nicole in March of 2009. I am grateful to be
able get this information out so parents have a
choice. They will be able to educate themselves
if they don't want to medicate their children.

Please look
at Daniel's story how when he was a child he
would have wanted for his syndrome to be taken
away but now he is happy being who he is.
An
extraordinary young man. These children have
some incredible gifts so like I have always
thought and wrote nurture them with love and
understanding so they will grow to their full
potential. Like we have been able to do
with our son. Otherwise they could become angry
self-destructive with no social skills and
become very lonely, unhappy adults.

The name
MAUDE
came to me in 2006. The logo came to me one night, I think it
was about a year later. I kept thinking what would be the right
image to portray what I wanted to put together for mothers of
children with High Functioning Autism and ADD who wanted to take
the drug-free approach. I meditated, in the silence of my
thoughts all of a sudden the vision of the Dolphin came to me.
We had a company do a search of the name
MAUDE.
The name was already being used so we came up
with the name

which we liked better. I drew the picture of the
Dolphin for the Logo

UNITE for DRUG-FREE EDUCATION SUPPORT

A lot of
these children are diagnosed first with ADD or ADDHD

Communication, Harmony, Freedom, Trust.
That's what a true mother is. She is all the above and most of

Perhaps one parent out there may see our website and decide to take the drug free approach. It
only
takes one person to stand up and say this is
wrong to drug our beloved children I felt
very
alone sometimes but I knew in my heart I was
doing what I need to do to help our child.
One
day things will change but until then these
children will have to rely on what is
available
out there and it seems
they are still using these psychotic drugs
on our children.

I always believed our son would do well in life with our love and my
faith
|
We are always going to have things that will come up in our lives that
will cause us stress. Drugs or natural products are not a cure and there
is no cure right now for this syndrome. We are teaching our son to take
responsibility for his life and to be able to cope with his stress without
medication, we have proof it does work. It's not always going to be easy,
it can be damn hard yes sometimes you feel you want to give up but you can't, no
one understands unless they have been through it you have to have the faith it
will get better and I can tell you this .......it does. If
you are willing to put the time and effort in and have patience

A mothers Love
A mother has this special bond
with her child, when your child is suffering we just want to
make it better. It is a genetic thing with mothers that's why we
suffer more with guilt we are the nurturers and want to make
things right for our family and people we care about.
We are very blessed we got through
it but not without difficulties.

hopelessness. You can either give up or say I
will get through this no matter what. As my dear
old mother would say 'what doesn't kill you

for help for our child then who would help him.
I can say this shall pass but when you are going
through all those stresses it's overwhelming.
When I had no one to talk to I would pray and
ask for strength and guidance because no one can

Have you heard sticks and stones
may break your bones but names
will never hurt you. That's not
true words cut deep into a
child's heart they are always
there in our deepest sorrow. So
be kind don't carry your hurt or
your anger by taking it out on a
children. My mother would say to
me when I would cry because a
child had been cruel. She would
say most likely that child had
been bullied, she is not a bad
person but a angry child that's
acting out her hurt and
frustrations

Our son will soar like an eagle.
I told my son when he was a little boy, even though the umbilical cord was cut,
he will be part of me no matter what, I will always be there for him. He is so
special to us, when you have so much love as a mother or father, you will do
anything to help your child or children, but do it the right way. Love can do
such wonderful things, because love can heal your child's sorrow, make
them strong and walk tall. Because when they know you truly love them for
who they really are and believe in them, they will believe in themselves and
will achieve some amazing things in life. Our son will soar like an eagle,
like I wrote in my poem.

It's such an
incredible feeling to know
It's such an
incredible feeling to know that all the heartache, frustration and
sticking to what I believed in and taking the natural approach
and not to give in when I felt there was no hope for our son. I
had this strong faith that no matter what negative feed-back I
got, I knew I was doing the right thing it's called intuition,
that gut feeling it will never steer you wrong. Like I mentioned
sometimes I haven't listened to it and it has caused me grief in
the past, but I always learnt something from it and it gave me
wisdom. It gave me the courage to know we have to go
through these things in our life even though at the time we
don't really know why. You will see with the words that I
have written, from this journey of feeling hopeless sometimes
not knowing where to turn but in my heart I knew, I just knew, I
would be guided to help our son on the road for him to becoming
the young man he needed to be. We loved him for who he is, but
never let him feel sorry for himself he had to know right from
wrong. You realize it's ok to make mistakes we didn't
always do it the right way, We were only able to do what
we were capable of doing at that moment because it was a new
experience for us. We had never gone through this before. why
was our son acting this way, this was 1990 there wasn't the
information like there is today. That's why it's important
to educate ourselves, be open to see there is help out there
without medicating out beloved children.

A child who has come so far
A child who has come so far, he didn't let his syndrome stop him achieving
his goals. We taught him good manners, good work ethics and good morals
because we believed in him he believed in himself. This enabled him
to pursue his dreams in wanting to be in the television industry. He has
discipline. he knows it's a tough world out there. Nothing is given to you
in this world.
You have to work at it, by focusing and staying on task which is something he is
able to do now. He has friends, he has confidence in himself a good sense of
humour,
He volunteers at a local T.V station he doesn't want anyone to know he has this
syndrome he doesn't want to be treated any different, you know what? I don't
think anyone would know. He works and studies very hard. We are very proud of
him and know he will do very well in life, our wonderful gift from God, he is
really coming into his own. It takes time for these children to mature it's nice
sometimes that he has that innocence.

In times of
sorrow I would pray and ask my angels and God
for guidance. If you don't have hope and faith
then what do You Have.
How could I
not have my angels and God's love helping me,
because if I haven't had the faith our son
would not be Where He is Today.

long as I believe in myself that's all that matters
As long as I believe in myself that's all that matters. I wouldn't be
where I am today with my son and family if that wasn't true. Sometimes being
women we don't take credit and stand up for what we feel is right. Because of my
dear mother, as I got older I was able to stand up for myself. Because you can
be picked on and bullied, put down, my mother's words would always resonate with
me. It gave me the strength to know I have a voice and a right to feel I am
valuable and no one as the right to take that away from you. Because of things
that can happen in our childhood that we are not able to control can lead us to
having problems getting in relationships with people we think we can trust and
they let us down. That's got nothing to do with us it's their problem. you can't
be responsible for other people's actions only they know why they do what they
do. As long as you are responsible and have integrity then you know you have
nothing to fear. You can be taken advantage of but if you know the truth and
where your heart is that's all that counts. I have the faith to know it's ok to
make mistakes sometimes because I care, it's not the end of the world. I
never blame, to me it was a learning experience and it made me wiser and
stronger. I am very passionate in what I do because I know how
